Innovative Fuel Development
The centre will focus on advancing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), a critical component in reducing aviation’s carbon footprint. SAF, which can cut greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% compared to conventional jet fuels, will be a primary focus. By 2030, the UAE aims to produce 700 million litres of SAF annually, supporting a global trend where the European Union mandates a SAF blend of 2% by 2025, rising to 70% by 2050.
